Why STD Screenings Are an Important Part of Women’s Health

Regular screenings are an essential part of protecting reproductive health. Many STDs, such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, or HPV, may not show symptoms right away but can still cause long-term complications like pelvic inflammatory disease or infertility if left untreated.

At Complete Care Physicians, our goal is to help women protect their health without stigma or discomfort. We provide a safe space to talk openly, answer questions, and choose the right tests for your situation.

What to Expect During Your STD Screening

During your STD screening, we focus on providing clear communication and a comfortable environment. Your visit may include a review of your health history, an exam if needed, and lab testing to check for common infections.

Health and Sexual History Review

We’ll discuss your sexual health, recent partners, and any symptoms you may have noticed to guide testing decisions.

Physical Examination (If Needed)

Some screenings may involve a pelvic exam to check for visible signs of infection.

Lab Testing

We may collect urine samples, blood tests, or swabs depending on the type of infection being screened for.

Treatment and Follow-Up

If a test is positive, we’ll explain the results, discuss available treatment options, and answer any questions you may have about next steps.
