What is diabetes?
Diabetes is a disease that causes your blood sugar to be high because your body cannot process food into energy. It is life-threatening and should be addressed immediately.
There are two types of diabetes, but they are very different. Type 1 Diabetes is developed at an early age and is considered an autoimmune disease. Type 2 Diabetes can be developed as an adult and can be the result of being overweight, having high cholesterol, viral infections, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) or even a family history of diabetes.
